The series was broadcast for sixty-four episodes on MBS– TBS from April 2009 to July 2010. Production for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood began in 2008. The series was conceived in order to create a faithful adaptation that directly follows the entire storyline of the original manga, after 2003's Fullmetal Alchemist anime series strayed away from it to tell its own story after running out of published manga material to adapt. Produced by Bones, the series is directed by Yasuhiro Irie, written by Hiroshi Ōnogi and composed by Akira Senju. He helped with original experiment, but now that he’s a giant suit of armor, there’s no way he can become a state alchemist. While Al’s not as accomplished as his brother, he’s still really good. But really, they’re planning to use his state alchemist credentials to investigate some way to regain their bodies. Ed has become a state alchemist, working for the government and the military. The process went horribly wrong, leaving Al as a disembodied soul trapped in a suit of armor, and causing Ed to lose his arm and leg. That is, until his mother died, and the two brothers tried to bring her back with alchemy. Al was a happy kid, learning alchemy and playing with his brother. Grew up…with his mom and his older brother Ed.
